Sweet democracy, wherever you need it

Democracy is a great thing and it always needs more people using it. Bus folks bust their butts to get every eligible Oregonian registered to vote and casting a ballot. We scour cities all over Oregon looking for people who are getting left out of the process. You can see us running down the street, hopping on public transit and approaching stranger after stranger, just looking for another person to bring into democracy. Once they’re on the rolls, we build relationships with them and make sure they turn out to vote. It’s the best one-two punch around.

We’re working hard to engage the folks who aren’t getting heard enough in politics. That means getting ballots in the hands of young people and especially young people of color, building power for the most diverse generation in Oregon history.

If you wanna get folks voting, here’s a couple ways to get on it:

1. Join our Get Out the Vote Phone Phests. There’s a big honkin’ election in Oregon’s First Congressional District and we’re dialing like the dickens to make sure young voters and voters of color get heard across the political spectrum. As usual, we don’t care how they vote, just that they get those ballots in. We’re making sure the electorate looks like Oregon and that everybody knows where to vote and when.

Through our epic Phone Phests (dialing + drinks + delicious num-nums), we’re gonna make 12,000 phone calls to get those ballots in and make democracy work better for every voters out there. We’ll be constantly callin’, even in the dark – cuz we have flashlights.
