Voter Pre-Registration for 16 & 17 year olds

passed in 2018

One of the biggest barriers to voting is registration. By getting young pre-registered to vote before they turn 18, we’re helping build good habits and strong voters. We led the charge for pre-registration in 2007 and again in 2017, and as of January 1, 2018, all eligible 16 and 17 year-olds can pre-register to vote!

America's First Automatic Voter Registration Law

passed in 2015

The Bus led the effort to pass Automatic Voter Registration (AVR) at the DMV in 2015, and over 400,000 Oregonians have been registered to vote since then. We want to do better, so we’re working to expand AVR to even more state agencies. We won’t stop until every eligible Oregonian has the opportunity to register to vote!

Online Voter Registration

HB 2386 passed in 2009

Can you imagine a time when you couldn't register to vote online? We do! In 2008 we helped pass online voter registration. In addition, we also worked with Oregon Students and OSPIRG to pass voter registration accessibility requirements for all high schools in Oregon.
