Retail Locations Pick up your pass at your local Orange County Ralphs, Northgate, Vons, or Pavilions supermarket. Please check with the retailer about the pass you want to purchase. Not all pass types are sold at every location.

Does OCTA accept cash?
PAYING YOUR FARE Please have your exact fare, pass, or OC Bus app ready when boarding the bus. Exact change is required when paying by cash. Fareboxes do not make change, and drivers do not carry cash or make change. OC Bus fareboxes accept all coins (except pennies) and bills $10 and under.
Do OCTA buses take credit cards?
You must use a valid Visa, MasterCard or American Express card OR a PayPal account to purchase tickets using the OC Bus Mobile Ticketing app or our OCBus.transitsherpa.com. OC Bus Mobile Ticketing also accepts prepaid debit cards. Adding a debit/ credit card can only be done through the purchase process.

Look for the contactless symbol on your credit or debit card to see if your card is contactless enabled. Then, board a bus with the contactless symbol and instead of paying with cash, simply tap your card or contactless-enabled device onto the reader and wait for the beep.

TAP cards can be purchased for $1 at any TAP Vending Machine at Metro Rail and Orange Line Stations. Riders can also purchase them for $2 from regional vendor locations including Metro Customer Centers. A TAP card is always sold with a pass or stored value. TAP cards last for up to 10 years.
