How does SBS bus work?
The fare for SBS is the same as the subway and local and limited bus service, or $2.75 per trip, but you must pay your fare before boarding the bus. At each bus stop, you’ll see a machine. Press START, then insert your Metrocard face up into the slot and you’ll receive a proof-of-payment receipt.
